| For visitors and others, I've made this map of our town. Although it's certainly not perfect, it's a lot more inclusive and accurate than anything else that I've seen, including maps by departments at various levels of the Mexican government. Visitors might find a map produced by Jared Hooper, available at http://members.shaw.ca/sinetist/LaPenitaMap.html, more useful because its focus is on the inner town and shows the locations of many points of interest and businesses. My map is meant to show the layout of ALMOST the entire town so that my wife, Lenor, can use it for her vacation rentals business, Jaltemba Bay Rentals. And also so there is a map which shows the parts of town where many of us live so that we can finally direct people to our homes without hand-drawn illustrations and complicated directions ("just north of the Refacciones Cárdenas, take the second right and continue up the hill until you see the two-story purple house, then go left to the . . .").
Contour lines represent 10 meters. Dashed blue lines represent seasonal streams, i.e. those which flow only during the rainy season (approximately late June to late October). Dotted brownish lines represent footpaths, footbridges, and Andadors (constructed pedestrian walkways). If you want to print this map, hold your cursor over the map and click on the RIGHT mouse button; you'll then see an option to print. You can also save the map to your computer this way. You're welcome to use and distribute this map as you wish, but it cannot be altered for any commercial purpose without making an arrangement with me: I've put in several dozens of hours of work on the ground and at the computer to produce it.
