This beautiful flowering vine needs a name. A scientific name, preferably, but anything can help.

At left is the plant I started from a cutting which sat drying out inside my pickup for several hours before being stuck in a glass of water. A few weeks later it seems pretty happy; about two hours after I jammed the freshly-cut bamboo stem in the pot the plant was using it. The plant even looks to be forming a flower bud in the axil where it's branching at top.

This start gave me a chance to see the leaves as the source plant is totally leafless now, very late in the dry season (30 May 2005).

Below is another view of the flowers showing their calyces and how they attach, as well as another aspect on the flowers' shape. The brightly coloured (but shadowed) insect is serependitious.
